The Dons went into the game against Hamilton after a lacklustre Scottish Cup game at the weekend against Stenhousemuir – and desperate to get back to that winning league form that dominated December.
And the 1,071 strong Red Army at a cold Hope CBD Stadium, were treated to three goals in this midweek affair with Sam Cosgrove scored his ninth goal in eight games.
There was one change to the side from Saturday, with Stevie May coming in up front for Niall McGinn who was on the subs bench.
Hamilton had control of the opening period of the game, but that was soon to change as Aberdeen stepped up a gear after on-form goal scorer Sam Cosgrove put the Dons ahead thanks to Max Lowe driving forward from left-back, crossing to May who crossed to Cosgrove who put it in at the back of the post.
The Dons continued the second-half where they left off, and were two ahead thanks to yet another Sam Cosgrove goal after he drilled home the goal after beating Ziggy Gordon.
Five minutes later the Dons were home and dry, making it 3-0 after Stevie May’s well taken corner was headed by Cosgrove, Fulton managed to save initially but Lewis Ferguson got the final touch to tap the ball into the net.
From there on in the Dons were more than comfortable to see out the game, and although 4th in the Scottish Premiership are only three points off top spot.
Onwards and upwards, next up Kilmarnock at Pittodrie on Saturday.
