The Sunday Post have today apologised to Niall McGinn on the back page of today’s paper (Sunday 16 August 2020) after publishing his picture as one of the Aberdeen eight in a back page splash last weekend.
The apology said: “On our back page last week we published a photograph of Aberdeen footballer Niall McGinn and said he was one of eight players who had apologised for breaching Covid-related guidelines around socialising.
“However, Mr McGinn was not involved and had broken no rules. We correctly identified the players involved inside and the mistake on our back page was due to failures in our production systems.
“We would like to apologise to Mr McGinn for any embarassment caused by our mistake.”
