ScotRail Festive Timetable Released

ScotRail have announced their timetable for over the festive period – the main fixture affected by travel this Christmas for Dons supporters, is the Boxing Day match, Aberdeen v Celtic at Pittodrie, kick-off 2pm.  No trains will run to/from Inverness or Aberdeen on Boxing Day.

Last trains of the day will depart earlier than normal on both Christmas Eve and Hogmanay and there will be changes to train times over the Christmas and New Year period.

No train will run on Christmas Day or New Year’s Day.

Christmas Eve – Monday 24 December 2018

Services will run as normal until around 8pm, when services will begin to wind down.

The following services are the last services to run on Christmas Eve:

Dundee / Aberdeen:

  • 1840 Glasgow Queen Street to Aberdeen;
  • 1941 Aberdeen to Glasgow Queen Street;
  • 2041 Glasgow Queen Street to Dundee;

Inverness:

  • 1809 Glasgow Queen Street to Inverness;
  • 1728 Inverness to Glasgow Queen Street (2002 connection at Perth for Edinburgh)

Aberdeen / Inverness:

  • 2057 Aberdeen to Inverurie;
  • 2124 Inverurie to Aberdeen;
  • 2014 Aberdeen to Inverness;
  • 1813 Inverness to Aberdeen;
  • 2003 Inverness to Elgin;

Wick/Thurso and Kyle of Lochalsh:

  • 1828 Inverness to Thurso/Wick;
  • 1600 Wick/Thurso to Inverness;
  • 1754 Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh;
  • 1713 Kyle of Lochalsh to Inverness;
  • 1928 Ardgay to Inverness;

Christmas Day – Tuesday 25 December 2018

There will be no trains on Christmas Day.

Boxing Day – Wednesday 26 December 2018

Whilst there will be rail services running in Central Scotland on Boxing Day, there will be no services running north/south to Aberdeen or Inverness or between Inverness and Aberdeen.

Please plan ahead if you are travelling to the Aberdeen v Celtic match at Pittodrie.

Thursday 27 December 2018 to Sunday 30 December 2018

A normal service will be in operation.

Hogmanay – Monday 31 December 2018

Services will run as normal until around 8pm, when services will begin to wind down.
