English National League side, Salford City have signed Adam Rooney from Aberdeen on a three year deal.
The 30 year old striker was missing from the Aberdeen squad that played against Cove Rangers on with rumours about the move appearing in social media and the Sunday newspapers.
Salford City which is part-owned by Gary and Phil Neville, Ryan Giggs, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes are looking to the Dons striker to spearhead their promotion bid.
Rooneys’ departure has left Aberdeen supporters wondering how Derek McInnes will react in the transfer market with only four players coming through the door at Pittodrie so far, Lewis Ferguson, Chris Forrester, Stephen Gleeson and Michael Devlin.
