From 17th October 2017, the Inverness Reds Supporters bus pick-up point in Forres will be change to the new railway station.

The current station at Forres will close on Friday 6 October, the new station is around 230 metres to the north of the existing station.

The first supporters bus calling at the new pick-up point will be for the midweek match against Celtic on 25th October.

To enable the new station to open there will be no trains between Inverness and Keith from 7 October to 16 October.

Why will there be no trains on these dates?

The line through Forres will be closed in order for new signalling equipment to be commissioned, as well as to allow for everything to be moved over to the new station.  This means Forres and Elgin stations will be out of use while these works take place.  Forres station car park will be closed after 6 October, other than for rail replacement bus use.

The platforms and footbridge at Elgin will also be unavailable at this time, however the ticket office at Elgin will remain open at the usual times.

When will the rail replacement buses run?

All rail services will be replaced by buses between Inverness and Keith or Huntly.  Journey times will be extended and departure times may be earlier or later than usual during this period.

Will train times change?

No, but trains will only call at the new station from 17 October 2017.  Trains for Inverness and Aberdeen will mainly depart from Platform 1 at first, so check the customer information screens for the platform number before you board the train.

The current station at Forres will close on Friday 6 October.  The new station, around 230 metres to the north, will open on Tuesday 17 October.  During the station closure, ScotRail will be unable to sell tickets from the station booking office or platform ticket machine.
