Aberdeen Edged Out In Celtic Park Close Encounter

Aberdeen were edged out of their Scottish Premiership match against Celtic this afternoon thanks to a Scott Sinclair second half-goal at Celtic Park.

More worryingly for the Dons and Derek McInnes, we have just found the next twice in our past five games.

Chances were few and far between in the first half, with Mackay-Steven with the cross for Niall McGinn, who shot just wide of the post for the notable chance for the Dons that was quickly followed by the resulting corner, Andrew Considine rose high but his header was cleared off the line.

Craig Gordon then had to deny a a curling shot from James Wilson which was destined for the bottom corner of his net.

Unfortunately early in the second-half Scott Sinclair score the opening goal in the six yard box, the winger had his back to goal but improvised to backheel the ball into the net.

Aberdeen remained in the game though, from a Mackay-Steven free kick, Michael Devlin got a tow to the ball which went narrowly wide of the post – our best chance to equalise.

Right near the end of the match, Leigh Griffiths had a great chance to make it 2-0 for Celtic but he fired wide of the post.

All, in all not the sparky affair from the two sides from the previous season, which leaves the Dons 10 points behind league leaders, Hearts.
