Winger Faces World Cup Woe
- Updated: September 12, 2009
ABERDEEN FC have gone to war with the Nigerian FA over star winger Sone Aluko.
Aberdeen FC manager Mark McGhee is considering banning Aluko from playing in this month’s Under-20 World Cup finals in Egypt after accusing the Nigerian FA of failing to take care of the player while he was with them at a training camp in Spain.
Aluko returned to Pittodrie suffering from an Achilles tendon injury and is a major doubt for Aberdeen FC’s SPL trip to Falkirk on Monday night.
Aluko was unavailable to comment. Nigerian FA media officer Ademo Olajire was also unavailable.
