The Predictor works using the fixture lists for each league and the scores you predict for every game in these leagues or cup competitions each week.

All you need to do is correctly guess the scores each week to earn points. To enter your scores click on MY PREDICTIONS in each league.

THE SCORING
OK, here comes the science!

We've made some changes to the scoring system this year from feedback we had from users last year. We hope by changing the scoring system it will make it fair in how the points are awarded.

For example, if Chelsea play West Ham and win 2-1, here is how you will score if you correctly predict the 2-1 result.

• You earn 1 point for the correct home score	2	1
• and another 1 point for the correct away score	1	1
• 5 points for the correct result (win, lose or draw)	WIN	5
• 5 points for a correct score (ie, you predicted 2-1 and the score was 2-1)	2-1	5

For the same example, if you predicted the score to be 1-1, your points will be calculated as follows:

MATCH TIME CHANGE FOR 2008/09
Another important change for this year is the actual match time. Previously a score was entered included any extra time played.

For the 2008/09 season it will be based on the 90 minute full time score (including injury time) and not extra time.

ON MATCHDAYS
On matchdays, you will be able to enter your predictions up until 15 minutes before the match kicks-off. This is to ensure that all scores are captured ahead of the match starting.

The match results will be updated following the game being played and your predictions cross-matched with the actual result. On ocassion this can take up to 3 days, but more likely will be updated the same day, sometimes they will be updated LIVE as the match progresses.

THE LEAGUE
Once your scores have been entered, they will be stored in our database - you can change your predictions up until 15 minutes before the match kicks-off.

You will be prevented for entering or amending your predictions if the match has kicked-off.

Once the results have been updated, your position in the league will be updated reflecting your points scored - your username will be used within the league.
