Rangers Fans In Hampden Protest March

Police have appealed to Rangers fans to “protest peacefully” during a march to Hampden.
The demonstration has been organised to draw attention to the football club’s plight.
Some supporters believe the Scottish football authorities should have acted sooner to prevent the Ibrox club ending up in financial crisis.
The march will start at 13:30 at Queens Park and end at the National Stadium. Disruption to traffic is expected.
Ch Supt Andy Bates said: “We understand that passions are running high at the moment and appreciate that people feel the need to demonstrate their feelings.
“My message to the public is to come along, protest peacefully and be mindful of the people who work and live in the communities.
“I’d like to suggest that anyone travelling to and from this area allow extra time for their journey.”
Supporters will assemble within Queens Park then proceed along Queens Drive, Cathcart Road, Prospecthill Road, and Aikenhead Road to Hampden. A static rally will then take place.
Sandy Jardine of the Rangers Fighting Fund added: “Since the club has gone into administration the fans have been magnificent in their support and the rally gives the fans an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to saving our beloved Rangers from the proposed sanctions.
“It is important to stress that everyone involved in this procession acts in a responsible manner to represent the club in the best possible light and I would like to thank Strathclyde Police and Glasgow City Council for organising this event at such short notice.”
Earlier this week the Scottish FA said the three members of the panel who imposed a year-long transfer embargo on Rangers had received “abusive and threatening communication”.
The transfer ban, and a £160,000 fine, came as a result of the club being found guilty of five breaches of SFA rules.
Former owner Craig Whyte was found guilty of two rule breaches and fined £200,000.
