St Mirren players prevented the club’s directors joining in their celebrations at reaching the Co-operative Insurance Cup final because of a bonus row.
The Buddies players received £1,000 per man for beating Hearts last Tuesday to reach the final against Rangers.
That is £600 less than they received for beating Motherwell in the previous round of the competition.
The players locked the dressing room door after the semi-final win to prevent the directors joining them.
Directors had to wait in the corridor outside and were only given the opportunity to offer their congratulations once the players decided it was time to leave Fir Park.
The St Mirren players are furious with the club’s board and have requested an official meeting to discuss their grievance.
The rift between the board and players is unhealthy at a time when the club is looking forward to a first domestic final in 23 years.
St Mirren will face Rangers in the final at Hampden on 21 March.
