In the wake of today’s cancelation a club spokesman commented. “Obviously the weather conditions changed quite rapidly and Strathclyde Police felt they had no other alternative but to postpone the game.

“Unfortunately most of our fans had started on their journey by this time and we hope that they all make their way home safely.

“In the circumstances it was probably the correct decision, all the same it was a big disappointment for everyone connected with Aberdeen Football Club.”
