Novo Surprise At Outrage

Nacho Novo has expressed his surprise at the outrage after he was spotted lowering his shorts after Rangers’ defeat at Aberdeen.

It was thought the SFA could take action against the Spanish striker after he was spotted with his shorts beneath his buttocks and making a one-finger salute to Dons fans after the full-time whistle.

Novo admits adjusting his kit at Pittodrie, but claimed that was only to tuck in his top after previously giving away his playing shirt to a fan.

The experienced striker has labelled the reaction to his actions as ‘nonsense’, stating the media has blown the episode out of all proportion.

“I dropped my shorts a little – that is for certain,” he told Spanish TV. “But I did not intend to provoke anybody.

“When the game ended a kid asked me for my shirt. I gave it to him and then in order to rearrange the top I had been wearing underneath it I lowered my shorts a bit.

“People told me about the matter today and it strikes me as a piece of nonsense. I am not happy with what happened. But you know what the media is like.”
